Yellow Mini on a lift error

I have a 2007 Cooper S 27500 miles and I keep getting the yellow mini on a lift error and a yellow foot on peddle. Yes I have seared the forums. I have replaced the brakes and brake sensors. And i am still getting the errors. Can anyone point me in the direction i need to go with this. I have had the car about a month and it has been doing it since i bought it. I love the car but this is driving me nuts. After i replaced the sensors i got about 75 miles on it before it came back on. After restart it may come on within feet or an hours worth of driving.

Also the manual says "control of the brake lamps failed" or "fuel supply malfunctioning" it does not loose power and runs fine.

Thanks

Wayne

What you really need to do is to go to Autozone or another autoparts store and see if they can read the ODBII codes in the car and post those back here. The code you posted should not have anything to do with the warning light you are seeing.

The foot on a brake pedal should only show when you are trying to start the car and either the brake pedal (automatics) or the clutch pedal (manuals) is not pressed.

As for the Yellow MINI On A Lift that could mean many many many different things. It is a general warning. It could come on for brake sensors, different engine sensors and even time related maintenance items.

Not sure if you have a manual for the car as you seem to have purchased it used. So I have added a link here to an online PDF that you could print if needed.

I did stop at auto zone when the error was happening and no codes came up on the scanner. If the foot on a peddle comes up if i stop and put it into park i can not shift it out of park. I have to shut the car off restart it then all will be good again. The CC-ID for the brake peddle warning was CC-ID 250 And again the CC-ID for the lift was CC-ID 419

I think the yellow icon is for service.

All the service timers have been reset. That was one of the first things i did. I do notice that when i start my car it shows the car icon and says 5000 that never changes is it supposed to? I have read where a bad batteries will do funny stuff but the car starts up just fine.

I have the same problem. It comes up randomly from time to time. No OBDII codes. I do know my steering angle sensor is screwed up on my car, so maybe it's a friendly reminder that I should pay BMW $125 to do 10 minutes of work

At least it is better than having the dreaded "yellow Lotus on a lift error"

If a code reader from a autoparts store is not showing up then you need to take it to someone who has a BMW/MINI specific diagnostic machine.

You probably have a bad/intermittent sensor somewhere that will eventually fail completely an may leave you stranded.

That was my buddy's car. He was not happy about that. I think he sold it after the shop paid to fix it up.

The pedal icon may just be a reminder that you have to push the brake pedal in order to get the transmission out of "Park". If you're pushing the pedal, there might be something wrong with the sensor.
