Coil pack and wires bad- MSD Replacement on eBay?

This is an unbeatable price on a replacement coil pack and wires:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Msd-Spark-Pl...d24de5&vxp=mtr

Has anybody here ever dealt this this guy? Some of the negative feedback is pretty bad, including accusations of counterfeit parts. This makes me a little worried- how would I tell if I got counterfeits?

Thanks-

val

What were the resistance values of the wires that you determined were bad?

The stock wires and coil are a good design and you should stick with them.

If folks are saying he is selling fake stuff, why chance it?!
there are 2 diffrent style plugs on the coil on gen1 mini's...they are not interchangeable ...
The fact the coil is a pretty common part used on different cars, stocked by several dealers makes me wonder why you would try to save $ by getting junk that might be fake, that you have no recourse if they are bad.....

The MSD coil doesn't fit right. Go with the Screamin Demon coil.

And here are some good wires that won't break the bank

I just bought a set of those Kingsborne and they really are a nice set of wires for the price! I'd highly recommend them. Still running my stock coil pack though and probably will continue to run it.

Ditto...good wire, good price.
I did switch to the msd...fits ok with the right bolts (not included unless you buy the coil from a mini vendor), and one rubber o-ring spacer. I had heavy corrosion on the coil terminals....but no real change in performance with the msd in all honesty. The msd with brass was a lower mx stock style upgrade (but red)...if a timy bit of hp could be gain with a coil, the screamen deamon would be it....
getting a good deal on fake stuff that might you you straded or impact your performance in a negative way is a false sense of economy....

Got the stock NGK plugs from a local parts store (Roxbury Auto in Seattle- great store if you are in the area) and the Screamin Demon coil and Kingsborne wires from Way. Hopefully this will clear my P2097 code.
