Chirp warning on start up?
Chirp warning on start up?
I just purchased a used 2006 cooper convertible a week ago. The car is clean with 41K miles. Everything seems fine, all of the fuids are where they should be. Not every time but most of the time when starting the car there is some kind of quick chirp warning sound. I have my seat belt buckled, the Ebrake is off. I can't figure out what it is warning me about. for a split second the check engine light is on, but I don't know if that is normal as a start up check because it doesn't stay on. After the quick chirp everything seams normal and continues normal while driving. I drove about 900 mile on the way home and everthing is fine. I have been driving the car every day for work for the last week and everything seems ok. What about the chip? The only thing I can think of is the person I bought the car from said it would be due for an oil change by the time I got home. Does the mini warn you when you have reached the interval for the next oil change with a chirp warning?
