Miracle Door Actuator

Miracles do happen. A couple years ago I replaced my passenger door actuator after it failed. Then a few months later the drivers side would not unlock remotely and would not lock automatically when starting to move forward. However, it would lock with the remote.

I bought the new actuator a few months ago and was just waiting for a good weekend to do the replacement job. But, about 2 weeks ago, it suddenly unlocked with the remote, a bit weak but it unlocked. Every day since then it started sounding stronger and it automatically locks when driving forward too.

I'll hold onto my new one but for now I'll just enjoy the miracle. This was after a good year and a half with it not working.

I have somewhat similar issues. My drivers door lock periodically stops working along with a few other electrical items. Disconnecting the battery for a few moments and then reconnecting resets the system and everything functions again. I attribute it to the quirky British character of the car.
