I have a 08 cooper S and live in Anchorage, Alaska have the reduced power (yellow engine light when starting) when temperature gets below 14 F/ -10 C. The closest Mini dealer is over 2000 miles away. We have a local shop that works Mini's on them. And after year and half of seeing if they could fix the problem, they called Seattle Mini. The service techs there said they have heard of a couple instances of it but never have seen any nor do they know of any updated intakes.

What I am looking for is any one who can provide me with dealership contact information in a cold climate area that had the problem and was able to get it resolved.

 

With the CEL (yellow engine light) present, what was the scan results of the ECU?
That will tell you more than what the dealer can provide being so far away.

In the forum threads there are many of owners that have had this same problem when the temperature gets below 14 F/ -10 C. Some say that the fix is a newer designed intake that they where scheduled to get. I am wondering if anyone has been successful in getting the problem resolved and if they would supply the name of the dealership so I can have the mechanic contact them and let them talk shop.
