Blue liquid leaking onto driveway under engine compartment

Hi,

Does anyone happen to know what the blue liquid leaking from under my engine compartment could be?

I know it's def. not coolant.

Thanks for your help.

Actually I stand corrected; I think it is coolant from the way it was running off the paper I laid down. It wasn't viscous. I was just surprised because I always thought coolant was green.

Anyway, it must be a bad thermostat housing.

I'll get it checked this week.

Bmw mini coolant is blue...
you are likely overdue to get it changed...it is not longlife, and not the same as yellow/green...similar, but not the same.

Most common places to leak on a s gen1 is thermostat, and the coolant tank.

They tend to split/leak at the seam..

Easy diy if it is the coolant tank on the s.

What side is the leak and what year is your MINI? Could be engine mount.

Late update... but I ended up changing the Thermostat Gasket and Housing. It took me about an hour or so to do the replacement and then another half hour to re-fill coolant and bleed system.

Thanks for the input.

Mini replaced my thermostat housing when mine leaked due to a TSB on the subject. They did it for free right before my warranty expired.
