Radio static

I am currently experiencing a problem with static on my Boost radio.

I get static only on FM, when the rear screen heater is on and the engine is running. The static does not occur on AM, and goes off when either the engine stops, or the rear screen heater is switched off.

I have a 57 plate Cooper D; build date Sep 07.

Does anyone have any ideas what could be causing this; and or what I can check?

Cheers.

Your rear defroster has a scratch in it....a dead wire....this causes static...
get a repair kit, and find the dead heater wire on the defreoster, repair, and all will be fine. Very common issue on many makes and models.
