I was driving my daughter's '07 today and opened the sunroof- opened fine. When I went to shut it, the right side closed completely but the left side is still up about 1/2 inch in the rear. I tried to close it manually with an allan wrench, no luck. I removed the motor and the motor runs fine when it is out of the housing, although the gear looks to be a little chewed up. The tracks are lubed and we have never had an issue with it before. When I try to close it, I get a bad clicking noise from the sunroof motor area. Two questions... 1. What's the deal? Is the motor bad? Does it need to be aligned? Is the whole sunroof shot? 2. Is this something I can fix myself? I hate to pay money for something I can fix myself. Plus, I hate to think what the dealership will charge to fix this. Right now I have it taped up with Gorilla tape (that stuff is awesome by the way) but it looks pretty bad and I need to get this fixed. Thanks.
