r53 stick shift problem!!! HELP!
ok so i currently have an 05 mcs and i just ordered the craven speed adjustable short throw shifter kit.
now my problem is this kit requires for me to re use the side oem bushing for play wise purpose.
i broke that bushing and cant find anyplace that carries them. and i dont feel like going to the dealership because i tryed that and they said i would have to buy the whole shift kit assembly for 500 dollars i laughed and walked out.
does any one know ware i can get the bushings!!!!!!!

Try calling a few other dealerships. The worst that can happen is that you will waste your time on the phone calls. Some dealers are more flexible than others.
Call Way Motor Works. I have seen other posts on this forum that have resulted in success in dealing with Way and he seems to be genuinely interested in helping.
Call a big auto junkyard that breaks apart wrecked cars and see what they have to offer.
There are other sources online for used MINI parts. Google is your friend.

Your going to have to get the whole shifter, the bushing isn't avail seperate. I can sell you a used shifter which would be a little cheaper but thats the only real option you have besides a new one.

i just made an upgraded brushing from brass
With the taller **** i noticed the additional play side to side from the plastic brushing wear. After much trial and error i pick up a bronze brushing and modified it to fit where the old one was.
Brushing specs (9/16 OD, 5/16 ID, 3/4" long flanged sleve bearing from mcmaster) there was no close metric size.
OD is ~14mm (i had to sand about 0.15mm off the radius 9/16" > 14mm)
ID was drilled with a 9.8mm bit, with the run-out on the old drill press i would guess the ID is 9.85mm. (need to dull the bit per how to drill brass without drill grabbing? to prevent grabbing, something i did not know but works well) (a 25/64" works at 9.9mm but it wasn't quite tight enough to reach my goal)
12mm from the end to the back of the flange.
I drilled and tapped for an M3 in the brushing and a 1/8' hole in the shift lefter for a 4mm long set screw. (you can use any screw you wish it is what we had at work)
i added some additional comments.
it isnt easy (drop in) but diy able with the proper hand tools or you could have a machine shop make one.
