Thermostat DIY

Did a quick search and didn't see anything. Is a bad thermostat easy to replace? Evidentily we have a small leak and dealer says it's from the thermostat housing. I think I've read that it's a fairly common issue. Is there a TSB or anything out there?

Not sure about a TSB. I'm sure someone has done it before somewhere on the web in DIY form. To get at the thermostat housing you need to take the entire airbox and turbo inlet piping system off, then remove the snorkel tube that delivers fresh air to the airbox. One this is removed you should be able to see the thermostat housing close to the rear of the engine. It almost looks like a heart. You have to replace the entire module.

There is a DIY here:

Probably should be in the "How to" forum. A little hard to come up with in a search.
