Did you even read the article? It clearly states toward the bottom that Ford redesigned in 2004 and beat the mini in all aspects.
Ford has completely changed over the last decade and are now producing some of the best designed production cars on the road today.
They completely modernized all of their robotics and hired high-end european designers from Ferrari, Porsche, and others. They have one of the highest tech design centers in the world and are really turning the brand around.
Some of the new prototype design cars from Ford lately have been absolutely stunning, both in looks and tech.

I would suggest you ask your insurance about 'diminished value'.
Some states offer recourse by law (Ga). Here is a link giving you a better idea of what
