No Power/No access with FOB or Real Key

So, as I sit here waiting for Roadside Assistance to arrive to get my car transported to the dealership, I wonder about the logistics. I have a 2011 MC with 9k miles. It seems as though the battery is dead, however, I can't fully diagnose that. I'm unable to get into the car. The FOB doesn't do anything and I can't unlock the door with the real key. So I am just entirely locked out of the car. Is this a flaw in design? Or am I looking at an issue on a more grand of scale than a dead battery? BTW, not sure if this is associated with my issue this morning, but I lost all radio functionality three days ago. It's like the radio doesn't exist. I had an appointment at the dealership on Monday, but it looks like it's going in early. (Hopefully!)

That really sucks - sorry to hear it. Sorry I can't help, but will watch this thread to see how it goes. Hope you'll keep us posted...

The physical key should physically unlock the driver door when you turn it in the tumbler. Definitely have the dealer check that as well.

Quick Update:

So I'm a half idiot. I was always turning the key to the left to open the door, but not keeping it turned left as I pulled on the door handle. So...got Cecil open, no lights, no power, nothing. MINI RA arrived, quick charged the battery and the guy was amazed how much juice it took to get it started again. Cecil had only been sitting idle for 10 hours. I immediately drove to my dealership, got it dropped off and will wait the hear what they say and what they find out on my non-existent radio. There is one downfall, however, my loaner car is an '11 Clubman S! The downfall is that I never knew what I was missing with my justa. I really never thought there would be THAT much difference in power. I was wrong, now I want an S.

Oh and just a side note- which many of you may know already since I'm new to the Mini-World. I gave the service advisor my spare key, but he told me that he wanted the key that just came out of the car because it was holding the mileage and other useful information. Interesting.

I'll update when I hear more!

Yeah they want the FOB you just pulled out because it contains the power log as well. Your broken radio probably kept the car from deep sleeping properly. Yeah I had a loner Clubman S once, I am glad I don't have one because I would be burning through tires! LOL

My 2011 MCS with less than 7k would not move two weeks ago out of my garage. Had to be towed to Mini and it was the battery. Guess they had/have some bad battery issues because that is all it was. You'll be G to G soon.

Thanks for the update - good to know about the use of the key.

Good luck - hope you'll post again after you get Cecil back.
