Tire pressure light reset

Sorry if this has been covered somewhere else already, and yes, I have checked the owner's manual. Steve had been driving the 05 MINI, and the other day when I went to drive it, I noticed the tire pressure light was on. He said he put air in the tires to get them all back up to the proper pressure, but since he didn't know how to reset the light, he didn't. Now, when I follow the instructions in the manual, it tells me how to initialize it, which will make the light come on by pressing and holding the button by the handbrake. Well, the light is already on, so pressing the button doesn't seem to do anything. I still "drove off" as instructed in the manual, but the light stays on. I know my pressures are ok; I'd just like the light to not be on anymore (especially since I am trying to sell the car and don't need anything to scare anyone away!). TIA for your help!

from the owner's manual

1. Before a journey, start the engine, but do
not start driving.

2. Press the button until the indicator lamp
in the display elements lights up in yellow
for several seconds. (when mine was already lit I held the button until the light blinked)

3. Drive off.

Initialization is completed during the
drive, without any feedback issued.

I was never able to get it to blink. Maybe I just need to hold the button longer. Thanks!

I'm glad you figured it out.

Here's how Butters works...
The light doesn't blink ever. I just reset mine yesterday by pulling the handbrake up & holding the tire pressure button for 5 seconds...nothing seems to happen.

The light doesn't go off right away, but once you release the break & drive off, the light turns out.
