New clamp needed for Air filter change?

I'm planning on replacing the air filter in my 2003 Cooper. The instructions say to fit a new clamp on the induction hose. Is this required or can you just reuse the existing clamp? Also, any tips on replacing the filter? I know it's real easy to br4eak the plastic clips on the air box cover. I'd rather not do that!
Thanks in advance.

I find the factory clamps to be a PITA to get back on ... difficult to close them. In the case of the air line from the filter, there isn't any real pressure here and when I replace mine I just clamp it with a good quality zip tie.
