I was driving on the freeway today and the SERVICE ENGINE SOON light came on and I was unable to accelerate. The car remained idle and I pulled over. I turned the car off and restarted it and it did the same thing. When I tried to accelerate I heard a rattling sound. Any else have this issue?

 

This sounds like limp mode. Maybe you lost you belt. Need more info, like what code, where the rattling was coming from, what conditions the light came on under etc.

 

Well I took it to my trusty mechanic and he said it may be a transmission problem. I'm not too savvy in this department so I will know by tomorrow. The light came on when the car went "limp" and it has been on ever since. That may not help diagnose the problem but thats all I have.
