I was replacing a license plate bulb and a small plastic piece broke from where the bulb cover clips into. Now the cover won't clip back in.

Can i buy that plastic piece(where the license plate bulbs are) separately or does the trunk lid come like that as a whole?

any other way i can fix this? as of now i glued the cover back on.

 

I had the same thing happen to me recently and I fount that individual parts other than the bubs are not avaliable and purchasing the latch unit is the only option.

The latch assembly cost ~$85 from the dealership.
