Dead R50 After airbag!!!

Ok, i searched all the threads found a close one but no cigar... I have a 05, R50 that i am building after a driver front crash, air bag deployed.
Battery charged, yes
Working-
horn
radio
flashers
when you open doors they drop 1/4 inch, close door go back up
headlights
blinkers

non working
dash
windows
skylight
venting
starter

Put the key in and turn starts dinging turn over to start and nothing.

Looked for the infamous fused cable b, with no avail, 1. cable goes to fuse box in front of master cylinder, other runs down to starter, looks like a standard cable?

Starting to track down power but it is like where to start?????

Other form was straight forward, replace cable b and Baamoe!!! Not my luck...

Any tips or ideas ?????
Thanks in advance...

JMS

If the airbag deployed there is a switch that needs to be replaced. I remember this from my auto tech school days. good luck!!!

The fused cable you looked for is ONLY on the r53 (s)...with the battery in the back...
I think something needs to be re-set...talk to a bodyshop or a dealer...once the airbags are deployed, the oem wants to MAKE you get the car inspected/repaired...for safety reasons...maybe even $$$ reasons. This may go beyond the tools/expertise of most shade tree hobbiests....remember, with electronics, things sometimmes can get kinda crazy...
You did check the grounding cable right?

The computers are programmed to do certain thonfs when an airbag is deployed...things like rmturn on lights, open windows, turn of fuel pump, cut off the motor....
Check with a pro...you might need a special tool to reset the computer....

Don't need to worry about resetting the computers a couple key cycles will do that so that is NOT your problem.
Remove the engine fuse box and check the fuses on the back side of it on some cars there is one there that can be blown causing this, there is also a ground hidden under there that could be loose.

FWIW, Another thread on here detailed the no-start condition after an accident involving airbags. It was the EWS (immobilizer). To test it, remove the connector and put a fuse into the slots for the thicker black (or black/yellow) wires. If the engine cranks, you might very well have a blown EWS.

What about the positive cable that severs itself upon airbag's being deployed.

Did you check / replace that?

It's right at the battery post, hard to miss.

I know the big positive cable will be severed, not sure if there's smaller cables that do not get severed. If that's the case it would explain some things working.

The R50 Cooper NON S doesn't have an exploding battery cable, that is only on the S models.

Finally got to the root of the problem!! After pulling fuse box (thanks Way Motor Works) found a sevard wiring harness.. Had to pull motor and tranny to run over to a frame shop for a little work then, will find out if it was the answer? Through voltage to motor out of the mini and all turned over, big plus there. Will keep ya posted. Thanks all!!!
