My wife has a 2005 R53 with an air conditioner issue. I have studied the forums for what seems like days and had no luck finding one that fits my problem. The compressor will not kick on. The small light on the A/C button never comes on at all. Never blinks. Nothing. I have checked and replaced all A/C fuses, switched the A/C relay... still nothing. I replaced the control unit in the dash. It has the manual control unit. Also the rear window defroster is not working. It did not work before I switched out the control unit, or after the installation of the new one. The rear defroster I can live without, but I would really like to find out the problem with the A/C. The A/C worked last fall but would not come on this year. I thought it probably needed charging, but the compressor will not kick on to check low side pressure. The low pressure side is showing approximately 70 psi, but that is with the compressor not turning. What am I missing? I have read several threads about the low speed fan resistor, but these seem to be mostly '02-'03 models. In most of the threads I researched, the A/C light on the button would come on or blink. Mine does nothing. If anyone has experienced something like this, I would appreciate any assistance.
