My 2009 Mini Cooper S has been in limp mode (half engine light lit)
The code I have is 2885 which is has no helpful definition for my code reader but my turbo doesn’t work when in limp mode. I went to a shop and they said my turbo is shot. Yet my car isn’t in limp mode until I’m driving around for a little bit. I have no check engine light. Only the half lit one

no I’m just running in limp mode and I have no clue why. That’s my code I took a pic of, I removed my forge recirc valve and adapter because of the code, put the stock diverter valve back on, and it’s still running the code. It’s confusing, I might just buy a new diverter valve and see if it fixes anything

@Dominik I believe @Jason Cornelius is looking for a picture of your engine bay, as what you have said above about
indicates that something has been modified and in order to help you he needs more information. As if there is no waste gate, then the car isn't stock anymore.
my vacuum lines look fine, I don’t have a waste gate either anymore

DTC 2885 only tells you that the turbo cannot attain target boost pressure. It does not tell you WHY it cannot make the target pressure, you have to figure that out.
Possible causes are:
1) Waste gate worn out.
2) Bad waste gate actuator - test with vacuum, if it will hold position it is likely good.
3) Defective vacuum lines - inspect/replace since they are cheap
4) Bad pressure converter - verify that other items are ok, then replace as last option
If miles are in excess of 100k, waste gate is a likely candidate. Even if not worn to the point of total failure it is almost certainly not making max boost
