Is a Software Update available?

I know I've had this on other vehicles over the years, but wasn't sure if Mini had them too. I know manufacturers change things slightly from year to year when it comes to vehicle software.
Does anyone know if there is a software update available for the 2nd Gens, preferably for the Audio/NAV system? I have a 2007 and sometimes the audio system will come right on with the car, then other times it takes FOREVER to boot up. The system runs very slow, like it's low on RAM. I'm sure others share my frustration.
I've never played with a 2009 system to see if it acts the same.
Is there anyway to improve the speed/functionality of the system?

I'm probably dreaming, but had to ask anyways.

I had my software updated when I went in for warranty work. I know the tech who works on my car personally, and he told me to definitely get the newest software. I believe the version is 2.4. I would definitely ask your local MINI service people.

Yes, BMW updates ISTA/P every couple of months. Getting the software updated on the vehicle is an all or nothing process, meaning that every module gets updated. It is a many hour long process. If you are a DIYer get a BMW compatible J2534 pass-through tool and subscribe to BMW's minitechinfo.com website to gain access to the ISTA/P system.

My gut feel is your radio unit is probably failing. They show up on ebay occasionally for around $100.

The way the BMW system works at the dealer is via "icid" tool, For exm.

Torque steer fix.

You bring the vehicle in for your windows rolling down intermittently without activation during auto up sequence..

The car will be reprogrammed completely.

Before reprogramming the "icid" will communicate with the bmw server wherever it may be and will do a version check. ANY* system out of date with the server will be updated.

There are a lot of updates, depending on when you were last programmed will be what you get.
