Hi, I'm new here and still figuring things out. I'm quite handy so some suggestions would be nice.

1) My driver side door won't open with the remote but opens OK with the key.

2) The driver side window sometimes doesn't work so I keep a rubber mallet under the seat which corrects it every time. I know this is bad but it's a small mallet.

I have the same problem with the driver side door. Mine will lock with the key fob as well as the central locking system, just won't unlock with the key fob. It sounds like it is doing something but nothing happens. I have not pulled the actuator out yet but suspect that it might be the problem. I would like to know if you get yours fixed and what the problem was. Thanks!

 

Yes, exactly the same symptoms. I hope someone gets back to us with some suggestions.

 

1 - sounds like the actuator - see this thread (it's a long one):

2 - sounds like the window motor - replacing or even cleaning the brushes
on the motor should help, but might want to rely on the mallet for a while first.

Sounds like the actuator, but only one of the two solenoids has gone south.
