Engine Replacement? Humble advice request

A recent diagnosis from the only Mini shop in New Mexico came back with one cylinder at a 30% loss in compression... the other 3, 10% loss but within tolerances. I have an '02, R50, with 114k miles. I commute ~100 each day to work. So, I face an apparent $2200 rebuild plus $1000 for a oil pump replacement. (This is if "we don’t find anything else wrong in the lower end") Or, I could search car-parts for a wrecked engine for a replacement. I recently found a '05 w/50k for $2200. I’d have to pay ship and install. Please, advise...
(1) Drive as is? (2) Have the shop fix it? (3) Engine replacement? If option #3, Please reply with questions to ask salvage dealer, pros/cons, comments and opinions. ...and even your recommendation of a shop in CO, NM, AZ that can do good work reasonably…? Thank you - very much!
