Purchasing thermostat gasket only?

Have an 03 Cooper S with leaking M7 thermostat. Is there a place to buy only the gasket instead of buying entire unit?

Nope.. ......its been looked into forever and no replacement as been found. You will need to buy a OEM t-stat and throw away the thermostat, like everyone else does

if that's the case (and it is hard to believe cuz when I needed just the o-ring for the oil filter it was available se'ly fm the dealer) just save the old one as best you can, go to the autopart store and buy a sheet of gasket material for a couple of dollars, trace it out and cut your own. I've made several different Mini gaskets this way when they were available but at a crazy price.

Interesting thought, but it's a pretty unique gasket.

It is not a flat gasket It is a formed gasket made out of a silicone type material. Mini did change the material, so hopefully it will last longer now I even went to the Chrysler dealer, as the thermostat is a Chrysler part, and the Neon gasket is close.....but not close enough

Sure you can, isn't that what was said? You just have to but the OEM thermostat to get the gasket, the gasket is not sold individually.

Did you ask for the gasket for the 2.0l or the 1.6l engine that is used in export cars ?

Sorry you can't buy the gasket by itself, you have to get the whole thing we have the thermostat and gasket in stock for $38 ready to ship.

Lol, yeah just saw that. Of course I just changed mine out a couple of weeks ago :S. oh well, at least I should be good on the thermostat for quite a while too .

FYI, they also have just the thermostat, piece the 2 together and it's pretty cheap.
