2011 Satellite Radio Stuck in Aquiring

Hi everyone. I just purchased a 2011 Mini Cooper S. About a month ago. I have about 1500 miles on it. About two weeks ago I hard wired my radar detector the way I've done in other BMW's I own and have owned. Ie by dropping the overhead light/control consol, finding a 12volt wire that shuts down when car fall asleep etc. I was out of town for a week with car in garage etc. Just this week, I got in the car and noticed that Satellite radio is permanently stuck on acquiring signal.

I'm 99% sure that those two items are not connected, but I can't recall if I used my Satellite radio after the detector was installed. If I take it back into the dealership should I remove detector hard wiring?

Thanks...

Edit: apologize for spelling Acquiring wrong in top of post... that's never been my strong point.

To power the radar detector it is ideal to pull power from the lighter socket or using add-a-circuit to the fuse panel. I would remove the wiring to go to the dealer.

A handful of people have reported the same issue you are and the dealer ends up replacing the antenna stack on the roof.
