New owner, DSC/tpms lights

Just picked up a 05 MCS with 33k to replace my totaled mkV GTI :( I've owned it for 3 weeks now and I love it so far except the DSC and tpms light are stuck on, DSC toggle doesn't work either, got it scanned and these are the codes

5e16 - CAN TIMEOUT INSTRUMENT CLUSTER
5e5c - RPA PUSH BUTTON ERROR
5e15 - CAN TIMEOUT EGS
5e14 - CAN TIMEOUT DME/DDE

Been reading a lot about possible speed sensor failing or steering angle sensor. Just wanna make sure what it is before I spend money on new sensors. Thanks in advance

The 05 models didn't come with tpms.

They use a rotational speed sensor at each wheel to detect changes in rotational speed. If the tire goes flat, the diameter changes, thus the speed.

In your case, I suspect one of the rotational speed sensor has gone out. You may be able to clean, re-install to solve the problem - but chances are, you will need to replace one. The challenge is to find which sensor is triggering the problem.

good luck!
Ken

Is the rotational wheel sensor the same as the wheel speed sensor? I've got the light trifecta and had the codes read today. The left from wheel sensor foil (5d90) and Timeout EGS (5E15) codes were identified. Thanks for any possible input.
