P113C code...
P113C code...
Hello,
The little woman's 2006 regular mini has been running great since I put a cool manaflow SS exhaust on last fall. Recentley however she lit the SES light. No signs of trouble and it was cold and snowy here in upstate NY so I decided to wait. Today was cold but sunny so I hooked up my code reader and pulled up a P113C code. The reader didn't have any more information on the code but when I typed it into google NAM was all over it...then cummings deisels (looks like an O2 sensor fault). The car has less than 40k on the clock which seems a little early for an O2 sensor to bite the dust but the mileage has slipped a little lately (33.1 to 32.6, no much of a slip really). Since the magnaflow is a cat back system I can't picture that having any effect but I mention it for completeness. Has anyone had an O2 go this early? Is there something else I should be looking at? Thanks in advance for your help.

& another thing...
I called autozone to see if they'd have an O2 sensor in stock and was asked which one I was looking for (upstream or downstream). I suppose if one is gone I should expect the other to be close behind but for $160 a pop I'm thinking I'll just replace the one pulling the code. Is there any way to distinguish with the reader which one it could be? Can I pull each connector individually and see if something changes or is this too drastic? Thanks again.

According to the bentley diagnosis book the code should be PO113 which relates to the MAP sensor. It may be bad but first check to see if any hoses may have come loose or are not completly pushed on. the Map sensor is a lot cheaper than an O2 sensorand is behind radiator in front top of engine. Has an electrical connection going to it. Hope this helps check coolant level and add to if down.
