I have an 04 Mini 5speed and it started making noise in the tranny so I took it to the shop they said it sounded like the throe out bearing was going bad. So I set up an appt. for the following monday, but before Monday came something BAD happened. Basically the car wont come out of first, and front tires wont roll no matter if the clutch is in or out, however motor will start and run fine. So I have been thinking about doing a swap for the 6 speed but have not seen any good write-ups. There is a link about it but I cant get it to open. So I guess I have 2 questions...

1 Where do I find a Service Manual that will show how to rebuild current tranny

2 What all is needed to swap it for a 6 speed tranny and where can I find this info?

 

1) the currently available manuals (Bentley, Haynes, BMW online) don't tell you how, but parts are available (MiniMania).
