2010 MINI Cooper (Non-turbo engine) port injection or direct injection?
I'm pretty sure, but can somebody definitively confirm for me that the 2010 MINI Cooper (not Cooper S) has a port injected engine, and not direct injected.
Also, is anybody aware of any of these NA MC engines experiencing a carbon buildup problem on the intake valves or in the cylinders?

The MC (non-turbo) has a port injected motor. I've not heard of an MC motor with carbon build-up. That problem seems isolated to the turbo/direct injected motor. That said, I have heard of service folks recommending Seafoam for ALL Minis. I guess it can't hurt anything, but does not appear to be needed.
