Warning light combination
Warning light combination
Hope someone else has had the same problem and can give me some peace of mind --
I have a 2010 justa cooper with 8,000 miles. I have had no problems and had my oil changed at 5,000 miles ($134, but that's another story..). I use only premium gas from a top tier gas station. Mini is in a garage at night and at work.
I have an appointment for my one year check-up in about two weeks, but for the past two days when I start the engine I get a SERVICE light (yellow) behind the steering wheel and the ABS and triangle with an arrow around it lights in the larger speedometer in the center of the dash.
Anyway, all the lights go out and stay out when I begin to drive. I can't find that exact combination of lights in the owner's manual to know what they mean. I don't seem to have any problem with actual driving, but gee those lights are scary.
The closest Mini dealer is an hour and a half away so I'd rather wait for my appointment to get the lights checked out. But if you mini experts think I'm going to lose my brakes or something just as dire, I'll take a day off and travel to get it fixed right away. (or if really dangerous, tow it?)
Any suggestions?
Thanks.

The brief yellow service in the top window of the tach is telling you something in the CBS is close to being due. Use your manual to determine which service it is requiring.
The ABS lights and DSC (the triangle with circle arrow) are not in the center speedo. Those lights always come on briefly during startup as a self check. They should go out a few seconds after starting the engine. If they don't go out until you start driving that is an issue. But since they go away I would wait until your scheduled service. If you do get warning lights while you are driving thats when you need to go in immediately.

Thanks so much for the replies. I'll try to check the computer, although my only experience is resetting the low tire warning light, and that took 15 minutes. I just stumbled on the right combination of pressing, holding and driving.
Anyway, I'll give it a try. Thanks again.
