Strange pass. side "tick" noise

I get an interesting "tick" noise near the upper pass. side of the dash area/a-pillar upon accel/decel the car.

It's not a consistent ticking, just...when I step on the gas/take off from a stop, a single "tick". Then if I let off the gas, a "tick".

I thought it was the pass. engine mount, but tried rocking the engine with the ebrake on and engaging first/reverse, and couldn't duplicate it. As soon as I got on the road, it was there, like the rotation of the engine from accel and decel was causing the mount to "tick" or something.

If it IS the pass. side mount, could the sound be transmitted through the body and sound like it's coming from the dash?

I've tried searching for a similar post on Google, but nothing quite like what I'm experiencing.

Thanks!

2005 MCS, 61K

The mount's not leaking, all looks clean. I just bought the car, haven't tried to get any previous service records yet, and I bought it from a dealer so they didn't include anything with it either.

Car is a 2005 MCS with almost 61K on it.

I get this pretty bad too.

I jacked up the car and was able to replicate the sound by merely moving the wheel forward and backwards. There seemed to be a LOT of play and then a loud clanking noise at the end of each rotation back and fourth. Could this be my axle or something else?

Mister, that sounds more like a control arm bushing or something. Which, granted, mine could be as well. Eventually I'll go all polyurethane.
