P2270 before and after header change and sim install

I recently had my precat completely break off the header and was getting two pending codes and 1 code thrown. The one thrown was the P2270 which was O2 sensor stuck lean bank 1 sensor 2 the other was O2 sensor 2 low voltage.

I replaced the header with Mini Madness V2 Header and Sim. Since the low voltage went away, but I am still getting the P2270 O2 sensor stuck lean bank 1 sensor 2. Mini madness wants me to check the wiring but I am pretty confident I did it right because the LED was flashing, they said there should be no codes at all and they would send another one out.

First question is bank 1 sensor 2 the O2 sensor after both pre and cat or the first one before both?

Second my header gets red hot and only noticable at night, does that code have anything to do with that or is it the thermo tec tape causing that like they told me it might because of holding the heat in the pipes?

Third does any one else have the O2 sim and had the same issue, do you get defective ones at all, did you every hook it up wrong but still get the led to flash?

Please some in put.

Thanks

Anyone have any ideas?

Im going to get a new O2 sensor sim this week.

I'm not sure, but does that code need to have the adaptives reset? Normal code readers will not clear the adaptives on some codes.

yes I can clear it and it stays away for about 20 miles or till I get on. it starts as a pending then it will actually turn the ses light on after a day or so.

I think the sim is defective, because it works but must not be sending a good enough signal.

I have no clue though, Mini Madness is going to send a new one for me to try. They said it shouldnt pend or throw any codes.

OT, but how do you like the header? Did you feel any power increase?

O yea, I put 225 45 r17 on the car about a 2 month ago and they would barley spin in 1st and know first gear just rips them. my brother had an r56 and we did the down pipe and we were even for awile and know I have a bunch more power. I gained about a half a second. go to you tube mre19862 and I have the progress of the car. the only thing is I lanched really good on the video before the header so the times are very close.

Does any one else have any ideas on this O2 sim. The dealership said no matter sim or not it will still throw codes, (I think they dont understand what it does but thats me).

How many other people have put these on there car and have no issues?

Also has any one used the spacer trick and does that work?

Could it be because of the 17% reduction pulley?

Thanks

I reset the ECU and something else that made all the lights on the dash go crazy then count up to 6.

What a difference in power it made, and the ideal is a whole lot smoother.

But I still have that P2270 code. Does anyone know what is going on with this, I've read posts about the O2 sims and no one is having trouble like me.

I feel like it is working but not enough because I would be throwing the cat eff. if it wasn't.

Does anyone have any ideas? I have ran out of them other than getting a new O2 sim and trying the spacer.

Did you ever resolve your issues?? I have a header as well and ever since then I've been throwing the P0420 catalyist efficiency code. I installed a O2 simulator from O2sim.com cleared the code and in a few days the light came back on but now with only P02270. Either my wiring is wrong or the O2sim isn't sending a proper signal to "fool" the ECU. I'm thinking its the latter one because I took my time with the soldering. Just wanted to know what your solution was and maybe it'll help me.

Thanks,
Steve

I've been having this same issue for about a year now. My wiring is good. I was told to replace the secondary but somehow I don't think it will resolve. Help!!! Solutions?

I have the same issue, code and sim.
The typical config is to keep the O2 in the system, so if it is still defective in some way, then you could still get the code. If you install the optional heater resistor then you can completely remove the 2nd O2 from the system and just stick a plug in the bung.

This is exactly my plan I just could not get to it this weekend.

P2270 pretty much means the O2 is bad, or possibly one of the wires is open. Unfortunately, it is really easy to break a wire or 2 right where they come out of the O2. All of the twisting for installation and removal is just not good.
