Fuel Pump Question........

When our fuel pumps go, will some pumps still make that sound they usually make as they are priming the fuel line when ignition key is turned to Pos II ?

My mini wont start, turns over but wont start, and I hear the pump.
Did you ever figure out you issue?

under the IC the fuel rail has a little valve like a tire fill, if you push it in it should spray fuel while cranking(I'm told) that should tell you if you have fuel
