MCS feels like its having a problem getting fuel while cruising
Hey everyone, 2007 MCS when cruising at say 60 in 6th or around 40 in 4th with just a little bit of throttle being applied. It feels just a little jumpy, like the engine is having a hard time getting all the fuel it needs. I had the timing chain tensioner changed so I don't know if the timing is off or what. The local dealer reset the computer and checked out the fuel pump and reset the timing in the computer. So I'm not sure whats up, anyone got an idea?
Based on my MINI education on the forum so far, I'd still be suspicious of the HPFP; from what I've read, these things can begin failing intermittently and gradually...
Another outside guess might be the infamous carbon build-up... But you'd probably see rough running at all speeds/RPM's/gears/etc. if that was the case...

Yeah, I did the seafoam a couple months ago so it's probably not carbon buildup. And I really think its the fuel pump, I'm taking my car to my mechanic this afternoon, and if he thinks its the fuel pump I'll take it back to the dealer and get them to do something.
