OEM wheels and tires

I wrecked the front left rim and tire on my 07 cooper. How much do you think a new stock wheel and tire will cost me at a dealership? I got quotes 550 after everything at a local body shop.

thanks

Unless you must have a new rim, you can sometimes find OEM rims on eBay that look new in $200-$300 range. Might save you 1/2 of what you would pay new from the dealer.

Also, check with your MINI dealer. Often they've got takeoff wheels available.

OEM wheels may be cheaper than you think.

Or just buy a set of lighter aftermarket ones. For $550 you are in the right price range for 4 decent ones that will be much lighter than stock.

I wrecked the front right rim on my 07 MCS and it cost me 100 bucks to have it refinished at a rim shop. Looks brand new! It was way cheaper than a new one from MINI. Also found them at partstrain.com. Have an aftermarket lookalike on there from CCI for 143 bucks.

4 Konig Feathers can be had for about $600 in the 17x7 variety. They're much lighter than stock and probably have a similar build quality. They may not be the greatest wheel (or brand) out there but they certainly aren't crap. For the average Joe they are probably more than enough.

Yeah, that's the part where they fall short. I can think of a lot more wheels I like the looks of better.
