Electrical issues

Hi guys,
2005 MCS 7X,XXX miles. Love my car but recently I've been having some strange electrical problems. About 2-3 months ago I changed the battery. It's been fine but this week I've experienced almost complete power loss in the car for short periods of time. Air conditioner, radio, power steering, door locks and everything will suddenly fail as I'm driving. It won't fail completely but it gets close. This usually happens after the car idles for a few minutes.

Any help is appreciated, thanks.

first thing I'd check is the connections

I had a similar problem with my classic for the first 6 months I owned it ... electric power would suddenly drop out.

Eventually tracked to a loose grounding strap....as things vibrated, sometimes it had a good connection and sometimes not.

Check your battery connections . . . I have heard of some battery types needing a shim for the MINI clamp to grab tight
