For future use, don't ever drive your mini into a flooded wash :( thanx to my stupidity, the engine seized and now has a hole the size of a baseball on the block near the cab. Does anybody have any websites where I can get a block with crankgear. Also, what year engines can I put into my r53? Does it have to be an 2003? Or can I get a newer years? I know I can't use the r56's. Thanx for you help guys

 

Man that's a bummer. any 02-06 Cooper S engine will work. I may have an engine next week I can sell, but won't know till next week.

 

wow, my jaw just hit the floor in mis belief. thats freakin crazy. I saw some adds somewhere on here, someone had 5 brand new r53 engines for sale, i think they were asking 5k for each one. I cant remember where i saw it. Also, maybe try going to a pick n pull, or junkyard. you might also try a mini or bmw store (or a mini dealer) as they might just have what you need. anyways, thats a terrible thing to have happen, and i am very sorry. not a good thing to hear. best of luck with everything!

We're having a pretty good flood in Dallas right now. On my way in to work this morning I noticed the cars coming toward me had water half way up their front bumpers. Glad I decided to turn around and go another way. Sorry to hear that. Best of luck to you.
