Hey everyone. I'm new to this forum but I hope to frequent this forum a lot more.

Here's my problem...

Earlier tonight, my sister drove home from work in her 2005 Mini Cooper (base) On the way home, she made a pit stop. She got back in the car and couldn't start it. It would (crank?) once and then the lights inside the car would turn off and then on as if it was restarting and then the headlights would flash once or twice. At that point, the steering wheel would then lock...only until I take the key out. The door was open while trying we were trying to start the car and I realized that the window would move down each time I would try to start the car.

I tried searching but nothing really came up that had similar characteristics.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

 

When this happened to "Lucy", found it was a defective battery. after a jump took it to MINI dealer where they replaced it under the warranty.
