Chirp, chirp??? WTF??

Hey Mini folks,

Okay, this is going to sound bizarre.

I've been living with the squeaks and rattles in my cooper for some time now. Not a big deal to me (26K miles on odo). I've sort of come to expect it.

However, just in the past couple of weeks, I've got chirping . It seems to happen when the suspension is especially active, but it also happens on very mild bumps. It's not really loud, and I can't tell if it's coming from inside or outside. Just a vague chirp from somewhere. But it does bug me as it's a new sound - almost like a dry bushing (??).

Has anyone else experienced this?

Thanks,
Tony

I did but mine was only when I was sitting in a drive-thru. Turns out the waterpump was making the noise.

I'd guess that your noise is coming from lower control arm bushings in the front.

Hmm. This is quite interesting. I'm due for a service soon - I'll be sure to try and get them to diagnose this.

Thanks for the replies.
