ambiance lighting?

Hi all!
I am the second owner of an 05 MCS, and just for kicks I had the service people at the MINI dealership pull up the information sheet on my car. I knew most of it already, but it says that I have Ambiance lighting. Does this mean that I can change the color of those lights like in the Gen 2 models and just dont know it?
If so, please tell me how, I hate that orange! lol..
Thanks
Melissa

That Ambiance lighting, I believe is the kit that puts more orange LEDs under the switch bank in the cubby area, so that there's a more full and even waterfall lighting throughout the cabin.

But if you want them to change color you'll still have to break out the soldering iron, and physically replace LEDs.

I have a togle swicth in between the map lights that when pushed toward or backwards then held in place it changes the colors of the waterfall lighting througout the cabin. No soldering iron required..

No worries! 07 and newer have "mood lighting", purple, red, blue etc. 02-06 only have the amber interior lighting.

Shame I forgot to check that out in the '10 Clubman S I got as a loaner a few months ago. All I cared about as getting my car back, haha.

Ambience lighting means that the lights dim to off. Odd term that BMW uses.
