i've got an 02 r50 and last night all of the sudden all power locking function stopped working entirely. The buttoms on my remote caved in so i can't try those but the driver side door only locks/ unlocks with the key or with the handle and the pushy in thing on the inside of the door. the locking switch doesn't work for anything, i can't unlock the passenger door, the trunk, or the gas cover at all. so i need to fix this before i run out of gas

i've tried:

-fuses/ the one i know goes to power locks was working but i replaced it anyway and i tested the ones that i didn't know what they did and nothing

-some reset thing i read about/ key in position one hold down lock button ten seconds

-disconnecting the battery/ five minutes minutes disconnected didn't reset it, at least not in anyway that fixed the problem.

don't know what else to try but really don't want to go to the dealer

if you know a way to get the gas cover open while it's locked, like a manual unlock or some way to jimmy it, that could help me alot too if i can't get the whole problem fixed soon.

 

I have a MCS, and with similar circumstances I had to have my dealer refresh the BCM with the codes for my locks. Key fobs just all of a sudden stopped working. Somehow the codes purged themselves.

 

how much did the reset cost?

 

Well, they worked on it for about 3.5 hrs......was only about $200 though as we have a great dealership in Rhode Island ( Inskip MINI ).

And there was no explainantion as for why it happend in the first place....

 

The pull cable for the gas door is on the driver side back panel where the tool bag is found. Good luck Did this just start when the buttons broke on the fob? may need to pull the battery on the bad one and use the other key
