Rear interior door panel keeps popping off.

I'll spare you all another rant about how poorly this car is made for the over $32k that I paid.

Is there a solution to keeping the rear interior door panel (only the left side on mine) from popping off? Glue? I know I've read of others having this problem...

Thanks!

Clubman

I would take it back in to the dealer, and make use of the warranty..

If the panel is also on the $21,150 version I don't think the $32k expectation applies.

Had this problem with my 08 April Build and found that the panel was not formed correctly. Dealer replaced with a new one in August 08 made later (july 08 I think) and have had zero problems since.

Not sure if that helps you, but it did for me.

This brings up an interesting point about cars. The more options that you have the higher the cost. Just because you take a $20,000 car and add $10,000 in options does not make it equal to a car with a base price of $30,000.

I encounter this pretty often as I always load up my cars with all options.

Unfortunately I had a 2004 Chrylser Town and Country Mini Van Limited edition. Now even though it was about $35,000 it was based on a $20,000 version, just lots of options.

Same thing with my JCW. A base MINI is a about $20,000. The sticker on my car was over $40,000. That does not mean I have the quality of a car that has a base price of $40,000 like a Lexus/Infiniti BMW or MB. Maybe I have a $20,000 car with $20,000 in upgrades and options.

Good point. But considering my Honda Civic and Subaru Outback never had these kinds of problems, it still applies.

Mine is a 2010, but maybe it's just malformed like yours was. Thanks for this info -- I'll get it replaced next time I'm at the dealer.

But what you are forgetting is that this is a "Little British Car" and they are expected to have a lot of problems just to keep up the tradition. LOL

Ha ha!! True -- maybe it was all planned to make the car seem as authentic as possible.
