Okay, I can't take it any more. The tramlining Pirellis are beginning to scare the @#$(* out of me. I drive on some bad roads every day on my commute and the car's eagerness to hunt for every groove or imperfection in the road has gradually gotten worse.

I have two questions. Anyone else on Euforia's experience this? (I have ~17k miles on them now.)

Anyone find *anything* loose in their suspension that would explain what feels like a wandering front wheel? I'm reluctant to drive to the dealer & give up my car for a few days during the holidays to have them give it a look if it's just the tires.

Anything in particular to look for?

Thanks for any help,

Jeff

sorry to say but that is the way the tire feels on the road. my car does it to. on places i know it's going to do it i just have to hold the wheel a bit harder. a non run flat tire would make it stop doing it, but then you will not have a spare. most of the people have not problem with that. i an going to run a normal tire in the summer next year and run flats in the winter. i do not really want to be on the side of the road in 4 inchs of snow waiting for a tow truck. lol but you will not have to go the dealer. if they even know how the tire acts... so good luck.

I tried 17 inch non runflats, still pulled real hard while braking into rutted intersections. The 16 inch run flats however don't. No wondering at all, much nicier over railroad tracks and such.

I can't seem to get a set of tires to last more than 8k miles. Maybe you are just due for a new set at 17k? When I had the pirellis, I too had similar problems.

I carry a full sized run-flat spare on long trips, and enjoy the improved ride and handling of regular tires. If I get a flat in the city, I'll let roadside assistance get me home to my spare tire.

I just took my Pirelli Euforia runflats off to mount winter tires on my R85s. It is still very weird not having to constantly correct for the tires' desire to track to every rut and depression in the lane.

Thanks for the link. We've had this discussion before! (I'd forgotten.)

What's changed is that it's much worse. I'm taking it in to have the alignment checked and make sure everything's sano.

The tires definitely s*ck--there's no question about that. I'm looking at replacements and cursing myself for not picking up a set of the X-Lites when they were available locally.

Basically I wanted to find out if anyone's had any experience with loose suspension bits that may contribute to this.

Thx again,

Jeff

I'm with MINI USA. I'm sorry to read of your concern with tire wander on grooved pavements. A certain amount of tramlining is not unusual performance, but we're here to help. If you'd like, you can give us a call at (866) ASK.MINI and please mention Reference # 1-128699001 so that we can discuss your concern.
