Help! horrible rubbing, thumping, grinding noise while driving

Once I start driving I get a constant thump, thump noise like a steam engine from a train and added to that there is a grinding noise when turning the wheel to the right. It happens at any speed, it keeps up with the rpms and still makes the sound when braking. At first I thought it was gravel in the brake on the right front side but it has since gotten worse. Steering is fine, engine is fine, CV joint was replaced on right passenger side and brakes front and rear have been replaced. It is a 2005 Cooper S hatchback and I haven't had any major problems or even minor problems. It has 103,000 miles. If anyone has any ideas I would appreciate the help. Thanks, and I pray it is not a transmission problem!

Maybe a failed wheel bearing.....get it in quick to get it looked at...things can worsen quickly and cost more $$$ to fix.

Help! horrible rubbing, thumping, grinding noise while driving

Thank you. Everything else seems OK like steering, engine noise, just had a cv joint replaced. If it possibly could be a wheel bearing would I feel that thumping or just hear it? I can feel a thumping vibration below my driving foot. Thank you for your help.

Could also be a big bubble in the tire, stuck tar on the tire as I had the same noise after going though a construction area, check the entire contach patch of the tires to see if anything is stuck on there, I needed a puddy knife to get all mine off.
You may also want to have your rotors checks, see if you have a grove cut into them as that would for sure cause a grinding sound

Some aftermarket and/or remanufactured CV joints have been bad and that may be your problem, or perhaps your mechanic didn't install it correctly. How many miles since it was done?
