Another Air Bag/Seat Belt Light Problem

Recurring problem with my wife's 2006 MCS. The problem starts with turning off the ignition and all the exterior lights come on and won't shut off. After about 15 minutes the lights go out with the 2 airbag lights and 1 seatbelt light remaining on. Also the audio cue that the turn signal/4 way flashers are operating is no longer functional. Have taken the car to the local Mini dealer now 4 times for the same problem. Each time they find something wrong, reset the lights and the car is OK for about a month then the same thing. The passenger seat sensor along with the central computer have been replaced. All appropriate wires have been tested. The car has 40,000 miles and luckily all the work has been covered under warranty. I have looked at the other air bag issues on this forum. Anyone else have a similar problem and what fixed it?
TIA

similar problem to you

I am having similar problems with my 2006 Cooper. The turn signal won't stop flashing, the interior lights go haywire (they dim as if the headlights were turned on), the seat belt light goes on, and the airbag light stays on. I have had a multitude of problems in the past trying to work with the extended warranty. Have you had any luck, or is yours still acting up? I am returning to the dealer tomorrow.

All of the problems have been fixed (April 2010) though I am still keeping my fingers crossed. Took awhile but Otto's Mini kept working on it until fixed even though it was out of warranty. Original gripe was while under warranty so expected the service. First they found a short on the dealer installed ipod cable. They replaced the instrument cluster (Part 62-10-9-126-997) and adapter lead (65-11-0-411-924).
