Help!!!!!! 2004 R50 In Need!

I currently own a 2004 R50 that isn't starting. Turn the key = nothing. Lights and stuff come on but when you turn the key there is no clicking, the engine doesn't turn over, NOTHING. It was working fine the day before, but today nothing.

The mechanic has pulled and tested the following to ensure their functionality:

Starter
Starter/Kill Relay
Alternator

He is out of ideas, and isn't sure what it could be. He says that everything that should be getting power is... He thinks it could be the immobilizer, but has no real idea.

As of this posting he will try some random things...

Totally removing the battery for at least 1 hour. To allow the system to drain entirely.

Replace the battery.

Replace the battery in the key fob.

Any ideas folks? I've already spent $80 in towing, I can't afford to have it towed to the nearest MINI dealership (2 hours away), and god only knows how much they would charge me there. Their hourly rate is $112!!!!

PLEASE HELP!!!

It's an automatic. Neutral Safety switch has been checked. It's good. BMW Shop is saying that it's the EWS or a key. Damn the luck!

Update...

Mechanic says it's either the key or the EWS. Hopefully it's just the key! What the hell is the EWS anyway?
