How to remove brake cable from caliper?

I'm removing a rear brake caliper and can't figure out how to remove the brake cable from the caliper.

Before I start cutting and/or banging, any tips?

Nevermind, I found removing the rubber boot on the cable and wiggling it around gave me a big enough gap between the metal cable carrier and the caliper to put a screwdriver in and separate with a twist.
