Reattaching Boot Emblem

2004 MCS. Have to replace my boot emblem. 3M double-sided tape seems like it will be too thick and the emblem won't lay flat against the sheet metal. Suggestions? Woudn't a spray adhesive be a better idea? If so, what spray? TIA.

Double sided tape works fine.
I had my emblem done in black by Lyle and after removal and reattachment with double sided tape it sits as flat as stock.
