Cobalt powersteering fan shroud killed my powersteering fan/pump
Just a FYI for anyone with some sort of aftermarket powersteering fan sheild.

I have had this on my car for about 12 000miles and purchased it with aims of protecting the powersteering fan.
However after removing the powersteering pump / fan lastnight as the pump is broken, I noticed 2 large rocks which had lodged themselves between the fan blades and the actual metal shield.
With no way to exit as the rocks were about 1.5cm or 1/4" ish they stayed trapped between the fan and shield not allowing the fan blades to spin. This caused both the fan motor to stop working and the powersteering pump to overheat and stop working...
I did remove the fan about every 4-6 months for cleaning ETC, however the rocks must have become lodged between that service interval.
Needless to say I threw the shield in the garbage it seems there is more chance of failure with the shield than without.
