Bonnet alignment

2004 MCS, 94K. I have noticed that on a large percentage of R50/R53 the gap between the front bumper skin and the bonnet has widened. This has certainly happened to mine. I imagine the possible explanations to include: (1) removal and reinstallation of the bumper skin to permit aero grill installation: (2) removal of the bumper beam to permit service mode for engine maintenance, etc., (3) bonnet latches loosening over time. Any others? I know that there are adjusters at the extreme ends of the skin, but mine have never been touched. How do I restore that narrow gap?
