Is this a busted Motor Mount?

ok first off here is the pic..

Sorry, I don't know an engine from a transmission but is this a broken Motor mount or something? I bought the car in December it was there then, (not from MINI) and it has been to MINI three times. Thanks for any incite!ff

Also, would it be alright to take a lightly powered powerwasher to that ?

Sorry for the state of things, I know it isn't pretty.

You guessed correctly

yeah sorry to say bud, either that or the previous hydraulic mount is/was toast. Any clunking noise ? when they go they are pretty loud, one almost thinks the transmission is going.

As far as cleaning that stuff up, I would spray it with 100% Simple green and let it sit, then just wipe it down. That stuff will probably ruin the paint if left like that and a power washer may just spray it all over the place.

Best of luck,
Dave

Is the stain new? Perhaps it is leftover from the last time a mount leaked?!
If it is a new stain...the Mount is toast...as the oil leaks out at the tear that usually forms on the top of the mount squirts out...it will make a bigger mess...
I think I remember that Rubbing alcohol of all things will clean up the oil from a leaking mount. Not sure why I remember hearing that, or from where.....
The OEM mount can be found online for $85, plus the time it takes to install....it might be wise to get a local non-mini shop to install it...it will save you $$ compared to the dealer cost.
I have similar reports of the TSW solid mount being a bit too noisy and transmitting too much vibration for many folks....

impossible to tell if that is an old stain or the fluid from the current mount.
It is the engine mount.
